The Recap with CEO Jake Dunlap #104 - LinkedIn Updates

17 July 2020

Shelby Woods

This week we’re talking about your favorite social selling platform and ours, LinkedIn!

While Jake was out of the office, LinkedIn decided it was going to make a few updates. We cover that and more in this episode, plus funny stories from Jake’s week off (hint: it involves wake surfing) and upcoming events for the next week!

Jake’s Take | Question the Status Quo

You should never be satisfied! We know how that sounds but trust us. There is almost always a better way to do things. It’s easy to get into a rhythm and stuck in old, less efficient ways of getting things done. Strategies and technology are ever-evolving. But, counterintuitively, be wary of the shiny new thing. Always be consciously looking for easier means of getting work completed to benefit you and your team in the long run.

In The News | LinkedIn Updates

And now for the bread and butter of this post! LinkedIn has made some changes that we are very excited about.

LinkedIn Elevate is merging with LinkedIn Pages. This means all functionality of Elevate will integrate into Pages, and will now be free of charge.

Additionally, LinkedIn Events has added multiple new features and has more on the way. Users can now store videos in a video tab, create custom announcement banners, and hosts can recommend posts, which send a notification to everyone in the group.

Let us know if you’ve been taking advantage of any of these changes! We’re interested in hearing about other people’s experiences.
