1. Growth doesn’t happen magically, growth happens intentionally
Growing your network on LinkedIn requires discipline and a commitment to engaging with your audience. While posting content and commenting on posts is vital, it’s also crucial to actively search for new connections. In that sense, LinkedIn is the keystone of digital networking, and Jake shines a spotlight on a few tips to make the most out of LinkedIn and Sales Navigator.

2. Engage and make people feel heard
Commenting on and liking other people’s posts isn’t just about being seen; it’s about making your connections feel seen as real people. No one likes to be sold to. No one likes to be talked at. There’s a give-and-take around communicating on LinkedIn, and it creates the ideal environment for selling to targeted buyers.

Pro Tip from Jake: When you go for the first DM, here’s a couple of simple CTAs that don’t ask for anything but can tee you up:
“Hey, I noticed you’re really interested in X right now, and I saw this [relevant thing] and wanted to send you a couple of details.”
“Hey, I saw that X is really important to you right now, and we just put together this [related article, etc.]. I’ll send you a couple of details. Let me know if it resonates.”
“Hey, I just posted about X topic and thought it was relevant to what you’re currently doing. Let me know if it resonates with what you’re seeing.” > This is an example of creating a very targeted LinkedIn post for a prospect or a type of prospect and using it as a conversation starter.
